ran 9 miles with my mom. dad on bike. legacy parkway (race course)
not all that great, but for the complications we ran into, it wasn't horrible.
1:37.15
we took off running while my dad drove the car to the end of the course. we took a wrong path and got lost. we ran to a bridge over the freeway and stopped at 1.43 miles (stopping always KILLS my knee)
about 15 minutes later, we found the right trail and started again. right when we started the wind started blowing super super hard. It was like I was running in place. I even got blown off the path at one point. my mom had to grab my hand a seriously pull me for a little bit. that's what i get for only being 93 pounds. my knee was hurting super bad. a while later I had to pee. so we went off the path and i went. so frustrating. i didn't stop my watch for this break. this was a really really long run. very hard mentally and physically. I am wishing i didn't sign up for a night time race. we should have signed up for top of utah (daytime and downhill!) oh well.
mile times:
mile 1- 9:12 (on a dirt path very dark...we took this first mile way too fast)
mile 2- 10:13 (feeling lost and scared at this point...decide to just run to the bridge, stopped watch in the middle of this mile)
mile 3- 10:47 (after starting up again. knee hurts. wind blowing very strongly. i wanted to stop and walk so bad....sucks when you still have 6+ miles left. ran into dad, took a drink)
mile 4- 10:23
mile 5- 11:42 (had to pee)
mile 6- 10:40 (took a drink)
mile 7- 11:08 (feet started hurting)
mile8- 11:20 (LOTS of feet pain)
mile 9- 11:43 (really wanted to stop because of feet pain. I have never had this much pain in my feet) at least i didn't stop...besides the whole getting lost part. grateful for my watch :)
i averaged 10:54 miles. sucky. hopefully i never have a run this bad again. |
